Mia grew up in the Kansas City area and moved to Colorado Springs after graduating physical therapy school. Mia started dancing from a young age and trained in a variety of different dance styles including jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet, and pointe. Growing up Mia was a member of her studio’s competitive team and ballet company. Outside of studio dancing Mia was a member of her high school dance team competing in a variety of styles including Pom. Her passion for dance continued at Iowa State where she was a member and captain of the Cyclone Dance Team. Mia had the opportunity to dance at D1 football and basketball games, travel to March Madness and Big 12 tournaments, and competing at NDA nationals where her team became D1A Pom national champions her senior year.
While attending physical therapy school at KU, Mia coached the competitive team and choreographed for her childhood studio and for a local Kansas City high school dance team. Mia has loved being on the other side of the dance studio, where she is able to help younger dancers grow and find their passion. With an extensive dance background and personal history with scoliosis Mia found her passion in PT and absolutely loves the opportunity to treat patients with similar backgrounds and passions.
When not at the clinic, Mia enjoys skiing, hiking, running, and hanging out with her fiance Zach and black cat Binks. Mia continues to teach and choreograph for her home studio in KC virtually as well. During football and basketball season you can find her cheering on the KC Chiefs, ISU Cyclones, and KSU Wildcats!
